ANOMALY TWEAK PACK - v3.0

General information

Anomaly Tweak Pack (ATP), designed by Anomaly, is a collection of mini-mods to improve game experience in several Baldur's Gate games (original Baldur's Gate with Tales of the Sword coast, original Baldur's Gate II with Throne of Bhaal, Baldur's Gate : Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II : Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate Trilogy, BG1 Tutu). This mod is compatible with Windows and Linux.

How to install on Windows:

How to install on Linux:

Compatibility: ATP has no known compatibility problem. In particular, ATP is compatible with:

Order of installation: ATP must be installed after BGT, BG1 Tutu, Item Upgrade and One Pixel Productions if those mods are used. Other than that, ATP can be installed anytime.

Installation mid-game: ATP can be installed mid-game (no new game required), but the components won't affect already visited areas.

Components

Improved generic player script (BG2, BG1:EE, BG2:EE, BGT, Tutu)

This new AI script (named 0_atp) to assign to your party members is a improved replacement of the "default" script, while bringing features from the thieves scripts "thief3" and "thief4", that will be suitable for all builds. It has been designed for people disliking to have to keep a close eye on every fight and give target for every foe manually, but still wishing to keep full control on their party members.

Features :

Icewind Dale Font (BG1, BG2, BGT, Tutu)

This component replace the Baldur's Gate dialog font by the Icewind Dale dialog font which is more readable in my opinion.

This component is similar to the font change done by Neverending Journey and Tortured Souls, but without installing those and without affecting the larger font used in the game.

BG1 graphics for Short Sword +1 (BG2, BGT)

One Pixel Productions brings numerous graphics improvement, including restoring BG1 graphics for several items. Unfortunately, 1PP leave the BG2 graphics for the Short sword +1. If, like me, you regret the silver short sword +1 from BG1, this component will restore it for you.

New graphics for Scimitar +1 (BG1, BG2, BGT, Tutu)

Do you think it's a good thing that mundane scimitars and +1 scimitars looks like exactly the same? Not me. This component will give the scimitar +3 graphics to the scimitar +1. To my opinion, it's more important to be able to tell apart mundane from +1 scimitars rather than being able to tell apart +1 from +3 scimitars, because when you'll find the latter, you won't probably need +1 scimitars anymore.

This component won't be installed if you have installed One Pixel Production v4 beforehand, since it includes a unique graphic for that weapon already.

New graphics for Bullet +1 (BG1, BG2, BGT, Tutu)

I always had difficulties to tell apart mundane bullets from +1 bullets when they are identified. This component will give a unique color for +1 bullet for easier visual identification.

Select initial Bhaal powers in SOA (BG2, BG2:EE, BGT)

When you start a new character in Shadows of Amn, the initial Bhaal powers (supposely earned in the BG1 part) are given randomly according to the character's alignment. Do you think it's a good thing that your Chaotic Good PC got one evil power? This is not because she prefers to follow her own way instead of law that she cannot be a heroe and her reputation got below 10 at one point in Baldur's Gate. Likewise, an evil PC might have kept a high reputation and be considered as a heroe even if she was secretly plotting the destruction of the Sword Coast, like Sarevok.

This component will allow you a choice. Once freed from Irenicus's jail, you will be able to talk to a special NPC. You will be able to replace the initial Bhall powers given by the game by one of the following possibilities:

Better proficiencies for Jaheira in SOA (BG2, BG2:EE, BGT)

You probably noticed, while you were playing Shadows of Amn the first times, that Imoen, Minsc and Yoshimo got fair proficiency points, and in Imoen's case, fair known and memorized spells. But for Jaheira it was a disaster: awful proficiencies (++ in clubs only ?), and awful spells (hold animal or call lightning in a dungeon?) with even empty spell slots. It looks like Jaheira has done something Evil to Bioware designers.

Nowadays, you can use the Level 1 NPC mod to completely customize any NPC. But if you don't wish to take the time and energy to install that mod or if you prefer to keep as much as possible the Bioware NPC while fixing the Jaheira's disaster, this component is for you.

Jaheira will get the following proficiencies:

Please note that because of a WeiDU limitation, I had to leave an empty spell slot at level 1.

It is mandatory to start a new game for that component to take effect.

Fast join party in Irenicus dungeon (BG2, BG2:EE, BGT)

When you start SOA for the third time, or the tenth time, if you're like me, you must find that it's boring to do a full conversation with Imoen, Jaheira, Minsc and Yoshimo and listen to their story in order to be able to let them join. Furthermore, in some cases, Jaheira gets buggy and won't be able to join because the silly woman does not realize that her jail is already opened.

This component will allow you to recruit those 4 NPCs in few seconds if you wish by bypassing the boring dialog you've seen 100th times. In Jaheira's case, you won't even need to look for the key first. Of course, if you don't choose the new option, the dialog will behave exactly if that component wasn't installed.

Bags of holding for sale at Ribald's shop (BG2, BG2:EE, BGT)

People who don't want to wait for Spellhold to get a bag of holding, or people who would like to get the new TOB containers (the potion case and the ammo belt) without having to travel to Watcher's Keep, will like this component. It will add the three bags to Ribald's shop.

Add hard-to-find spells to Adventurer's Mart magic shop (BG2, BG2:EE, BGT)

Some spells are especially hard to find, or are only available by drops on some foes. This component will add those hard-to-find spells to the magic shop in Adventurer's Mart. The hard-to-find spells added by this component are protection from fire/cold/electricity/acid (wizard version), dimension door (if Spell Revisions is installed), invisibility 10' radius, remove magic, spell shield, stone to flesh, summon nishruu, control undead, mordenkainen's sword, ruby ray of reversal, improved mantle, bigby's clenched fist, bigby's crushing hand and freedom.

This component is inspired by the similar component from SCS II (thanks to DavidW for the original list) with some additions.

Shut up Lilarcor (BG2, BG2:EE, BGT)

Lilarcor may be funny at first, but may get really annoying after some time. This component will shut up Lilarcor (and Lilarcor +5 if Item Upgrade is installed). It's still possible to chat with the sword by dialog, but it won't interject anymore.

Allow skipping Irenicus dialogue at Tree of Life (BG2, BG2:EE, BGT)

At the end of SOA, there is a long dialog between Ellesime and Irenicus, juste before fighting the latter. This part of the game may be very well done, it's annoying to have to view it for the 10th time because you lost the fight, especially if you're using mods increasing the difficulty. This component adds an option to the first dialog to be able to optionally jump to the fight directly.

Add hard-to-find BG1 spells to BG1 shops (BG1:EE, BGT, Tutu)

Do you think it's a good thing that Thalantyr, who defines himself as "powerful wizard from Beregost", who spent fifty years of his life to increase his power, only got so few scrolls for sale? I don't think it is. This component will add every missing BG1 wizard spells up to level 3 to Thalantyr's shop, and will also add every missing BG1 wizard spells of any level to the Sorcerous Sundries shop.

Add BG2 spells to BG1 shops (BG1:EE, BGT, Tutu)

In improved BG1 games, you get access to BG2 spells for druid and clerics, but you have no access to BG2 wizard spells, except at character creation or when playing a sorcerer. This component will remedy to this, and will add all BG2 specific wizard spells up to level 3 to Thalantyr, and all BG2 specific wizard spells up to level 5 to the Sorcerous Sundries shop.

Add exotic weapons to Taerom's shop (BG1, BG1:EE, BGT, Tutu)

In BG1:EE, BGT and Tutu, you can select the scimitar, katana, wakizashi and ninja-to proficiency, but scimitars are very rare (even in mundane version) and the others are nowhere to be found. This component will add to Taerom, supposedly the best weaponsmith of the Sword Coast, a good quantity of those weapons in mundane version, and two weapons in +1 version of each kind.

In BG1, katanas, wakizashis and ninja-tos do not exist. However, scimitars were introducted in Tales of the Sword Coast and they were hard to find in the core game. This compoent will add mundane and +1 scimitars to Taerom.

Skip Candlekeep (BG1, BG1:EE, BGT, Tutu)

Doing the chores in Candlekeep at every new game may become boring, and those monks in green robe explaining how the game works breaking the immersion. That said, you still have to do it because you will need that gold and that experience so you can begin your real adventure correctly.

This component will allow to skip this chapter if you wish it. It has the same goal than the SCS component with the same name, but mine has two advantages over that one:

You won't be able to install that component if you installed the SCS component with the same name.

Restore Hulrik and his cow's quest (BGT)

The Hulrik and his cow is a original quest from BG1 in the area directly north of Nashkel Festival. The cow is attacked by Xvarts and you have to save it. Unfortunately, in BGT 1.01 and later, the quest will be disabled if Mulahey has been already killed.

I don't agree with this change, I don't see why this farmer in the middle of nowhere or the Xvarts around him would know about Mulahey's desmise. This component will make the quest available even if you killed Mulahey, like it was in BG1.

No fog of war in BG1 towns (BG1, BG1:EE, BGT, Tutu)

This component remove the fog of war in the main town of BG1. This includes Candlekeep (both prologue and chapter 6), Beregost, Nashkel, Baldur's Gate and Ulgoth's Beard.
